I definitely put architects on a higher intellectual plane than the rest of us mortals. You don’t have to agree with me of course. I’m usually pretty chatty about them and the mid-century architecture of Basel, Switzerland, but as I have just written a piece about them and it for Modernist Magazine, I’ll shut-up and not pre-empt it nor risk having them be pissed-off with me.
But it was open-house day in Basel this weekend so I had the rare opportunity of being able to take photos of the inside of my fave places as opposed to just the outside. It’s too late to include these photos in the actual magazine piece so instead I’ll post them here and hope that they serve as a suitable tease or fluff for the main action to come.
This Friday’s Beer & Concrete tour was fuelled by ‘And Union’. Modernist Craft Beer from Bavaria. Burp.
Cheers!
